Bagpiping at Fatty’s Fest

Bagpiping at Fatty’s Fest

Saturday, May 25th, Fatty’s Bar & Diner, Bangkok

Fatty’s Bar & Diner celebrates their anniversary with 2 days of live music. They were kind enough to ask me to do some Bagpiping at Fatty’s Fest. As it is Bangkok’s top dive bar, how could I say no? So I found my horse hair sporran, my balmoral (hat), and ‘suited up’ in the rest of my uniform.

This was after St. Patrick’s Day in Bangkok, link here.

Introduced by the owner for Bagpiping at Fatty’s Fest

In the picture, the owner of Fatty’s Bar & Diner, Matt Fischer, introduces me, and gives some reason as to why there might be some bagpipes at a Wisconsin dive bar in Bangkok.

This was also the first chance I got to play an event with my drum pedal. I was quite happy with how it went, though I know I could use some more practice with the thing to get the finish correct.

“I love to play bagpipes, and am always looking for more opportunities to play… preferably where pipes would be welcome. And legal, too”
